Aggression in pets
A pet that displays signs of aggressive behavior can be very alarming. Many owners tear their hair out trying to control their errant animals while at the same time trying desperately to find a reason for their behavior.
Although some breeds are definitely more aggressive than others, experts say there are usually underlying reasons for common aggressive behavior, such as routine problems relating to breeding, past abuse and physical discomfort.
Aggressive behavior is usually limited to specific situations such as the dog that barks at the postman (just doing it’s job!), or it can be an incessant hatred for the neighborhood cat.
Aggressive behavior in dogs can include barking, snarling, snapping and raised fur along the back of the neck and along the ridge of the spine. Aggression in cats can include scratching, excessive yowling and lunging, hissing, spitting, and destructive behavior, such as scratching furniture.
What is Aggression Formula?
Aggression Formula contains a unique combination of specially selected herbal and homeopathic ingredients well known for their ability to encourage peaceful attitudes. These ingredients are supportive for both dogs and cats.
Especially aimed at pets that tend to vocalize and physically vent their frustrations, Aggression Formula helps to treat the problem of aggression in socially inept and easily agitated pets and allows your pet to relax and enjoy the company of other people and animals.
Aggression Formula can be used regularly for the highly-strung animal or as needed to support instinctual behavior and discourage common physical signs of irritation.
What are the Ingredients?
Native Remedies' products are created using our Full Spectrum Approach™, a set of standards and processes that combine the best quality, laboratory tested, raw ingredients, Good Manufacturing Practices and a Full Spectrum manufacturing method to guarantee you products of the highest quality, safety and effectiveness.
Our products are not tested on animals and individual ingredients are well-researched and are natural, safe and effective.
- Scutellaria laterifolia (Scullcap) is well-regarded for supporting the nervous system. Scullcap may be used for situational problems linked to a demanding event (e.g. a trip to the vet or a competitive event) or as a general tonic used to support the entire nervous system, encouraging calm behavior while also soothing tempered pets.
- Matricaria recutita (Chamomilla) is a medicinal herb that has been used by European naturopaths for centuries. It has natural calming properties and can help to facilitate soothed behavior in our pet.
- Belladonna (C30) is a homeopathic remedy included in this formula for its positive effects on oversensitive animals that are prone to ‘hissy fits’ and that tend to manifest physically in the form of scratching or hissing.
- Arsen alb. (30C) is a homeopathic remedy used to support the affectionate and sensitive pet that nevertheless tends to become easily agitated and restless, often needing lots of reassurance. Pets who have a tendency towards jealousy would also find this herb beneficial.
- Hepar. sulph. (30C) is often recommended for oversensitive, restless personality types who hide their angst by displaying irritability and as well as those who take unreasonable likes or dislikes to others.
- Lactose (inactive ingredient)
How do I use Aggression Formula?
Aggression Formula comes in convenient dissolvable granule form. The tiny granules are easy to administer to pets of all sizes and personalities and are simply sprinkled on the back of the tongue and left to dissolve. No fuss and bother!
For pets with a chronic problem, Aggression Formula should be administered daily. Those with a more acute problem may use the remedy as needed. If it is difficult to approach your pet for fear of attack, the granules may be sprinkled in a favorite treat.
DIRECTIONS
Cats and small dogs: Large pinch of granules sprinkled into the mouth.
Small to medium dogs: Two pinches sprinkled into the mouth.
Medium to large dogs: 1/4 cap of granules sprinkled into the mouth.
Long term use: Two to three doses of Aggression Formula may be safely given every day to calm your pet and encourage good behavior.
As needed : Aggression Formula may also be used as needed for behavior that is linked to a specific event (e.g. the introduction of a new baby or pet to the family or after an accident). Administer every 30 minutes or until calmed behavior is obtained. Thereafter administer two to three times daily for as long as is necessary.
How long until I see results?
Within a few doses, the nervous system is supported. With regular use calmed and less aggressive behavior is promoted.
Can I use Aggression Formula along with my prescription medications?
Yes, you can. No adverse interactions have been noted between the ingredients in Aggression Formula and other prescription medications.
However, as with any medicine, it is always advisable to consult your doctor before making any changes or additions to your medical program, especially if you are already using prescription medicines.
What else can I do to help my pet?
- Aggression is often associated with dominance or anxiety. Consult an animal behaviorist for insight into your pet's problem.
- Remove aggression triggers if possible. If your dog is aggressive around food or bones, feed him on his own in a different room.
- Keep aggressive animals away from small children even if they have never bitten anyone before
- If a normally calm animal becomes aggressive then take him for a complete physical check-up with a holistic vet as soon as possible, as there may be underlying health problems.
- Have there been any recent changes in your pet's environment, which may have triggered his aggression, such as a new baby or a job that keeps you away for longer periods than before?
- Regular exercise is a good outlet for pent up emotions and will help to keep your pet healthy and fit. But keep your dog on a lead at all times and consider investing in a muzzle if necessary.
- Ensure your pet is eating a balanced, high quality diet with plenty of raw and unprocessed food (preferably organic). Many behavioral problems can be related to an inadequate diet.
- As a last resort, neutering your male dog or cat may help to control aggressive behavior
How long will a bottle last?
One bottle of Aggression Formula will last for 15 - 30 days, depending on the size of your pet and frequency of dose.
Our Full Spectrum Approach™
Guaranteeing Quality, Effectiveness & Safety
With a wide range of natural remedies and treatments on the market today, we understand that it can sometimes be difficult to make sense of it all. We also know that since there is no standardization in the herbal industry, there is no guarantee as to the consistency, safety or potency of the herbal remedies you buy.
That is until now!
At Native Remedies, all of our remedies are developed using the Full Spectrum Approach (FSA) to ensure you get the quality, potency and protection you deserve. Our Full Spectrum Approach consists of a set of standards and processes that combine wild crafted herbs, cGMP manufacturing and a full spectrum extraction method.
Our 3 Point Promise
1. Formulation
The first step in formulating a new remedy is always determining a customer’s needs and to match them with natural ingredients that have proven effectiveness.
In doing so, we draw on a vast body of documented knowledge about traditional medicine, as well as more recent clinical research into herbal remedies and proven homeopathic ingredients. Together with a team of natural health experts, the final formulations are compiled and decided upon.
2. Raw Material Quality & Source
All of the raw ingredients we use in our remedies are purchased from reputable suppliers and our ingredients are organically grown whenever possible.
We also ensure that wild-crafted herbs are grown far away from sources of pollution and electricity pylons, and that their presence does not compromise the integrity and balance of their environment.
All of our raw ingredients are purchased with an accompanying Certificate of Analysis. On receipt, they go into quarantine until further in-house tests are completed and released by our responsible pharmacists, ensuring that the herbs are fresh and not contaminated by any impure substances (e.g. heavy metals or bacterial infections).
3. Manufacturing
We manufacture all our remedies in an FDA registered facility under sterile conditions to ensure that no contamination occurs.
All our remedies are manufactured in-house under the supervision of our expert team and none are brought in from elsewhere. This enables us to have full control over quality and safety.
All of our products are then manufactured according to the principles of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) ensuring the consistency, safety and effectiveness of our remedies.
Full Spectrum Method vs. 'Standardized' Extracts
You may have heard the term 'standardized' extract used in relation to herbal remedies, but do you know what this means?
Many pharmaceutical companies have begun manufacturing herbal remedies using a process of extraction whereby harsh chemicals are employed to extract the active ingredients of medicinal herbs.
You will recognize these extracts by the usage of the words 'standardized' extract on the labels. This method of manufacturing is often cited as being more scientific and able to produce a superior product with controlled and guaranteed amounts of active ingredients in each product.
Contrary to these claims, this process is not approved by the manufacturers of holistic medicines. One of the reasons is that the process of extracting so-called 'active ingredients' and isolating them from the rest of the herb is one that has resulted in an increase in side effects, as the herb in this way loses its natural ability to protect against side effects.
In addition, many manufacturers use all parts of the plants to create standardized extracts, whereas herbalists know that only certain parts of some herbs should be used.
In the case of Ginkgo Biloba, for example, it is well known that the seeds of this plant are poisonous and can cause seizures and that only the leaves should be used. Standardized extracts of Ginkgo Biloba have been associated with the risk of seizure in some trials.
The most recent example of the dangers of using this manufacturing process includes the development of liver toxicity from using Kava Kava extract, an herb which has been safely used for hundreds of years!
It must also be added that this process of extraction requires the use of harsh chemicals and solvents, traces of which are difficult to remove completely from the final product.
To us, it makes little sense for companies to go the natural route, while being unable to guarantee that their product is free of contamination with chemicals known to be harmful to health!
Unlike many so-called natural remedies manufactured according to the methods described above, at Native Remedies, we avoid standardized extracts completely and use the Full Spectrum method of extraction, which is recommended by all the authoritative Materia Medica dealing with herbal medicine.
This helps us to maintain the integrity, balance and therapeutic effect of herbs with the least risk of side effects or harm to your health!
When you buy herbal and homeopathic medicines from Sage and Wisdom, you can be confident that you’re receiving a product manufactured to the highest standards of health, production and effectiveness!
