We have all experienced body odor at some time in our life - whether it was after sweating through a particularly strenuous sports activity or wearing a certain pair of shoes that always seem to cause smelly feet! What causes body odor?
Though most people think of body odor as being caused by perspiration, there is more to the problem than this. Body odor is actually produced by a combination of anaerobic bacteria and products excreted from your body during exertion or periods of raised metabolism.
Moisture and the secretions of apocrine sweat glands promote the growth of these bacteria on the skin which result in an odor. Perspiration itself has no particular smell.

- Galium aperine (also known as Cleavers) is an excellent cleansing tonic and has a particularly beneficial effect on the lymph system, which controls movement of fluid in the body and is also a mechanism of toxin clearance from the body.
- Milk Thistle is an herbal remedy which has had wide application since ancient times, but is especially respected as an excellent liver tonic. Milk Thistle supports the healthy functioning of the liver as well as excretion of toxins. Studies suggest that this herb provides a natural protective function for the liver.
- Silica (D6) has the unique ability to cleanse the cells of toxins and support a healthy, fresh smelling body. Silica is naturally occurring in the body, especially in hair, nails, skin, nerve sheaths and all mucus membranes, including the mouth and digestive tract. Silica acts as a natural cleanser and purifier and will also eliminate all foreign matter in the body. For this reason Silica should not be used by individuals with any type of prosthesis, metal plates, pins or artificial tubes in the body.

How do I use DeodoRite?
DeodoRite comes in small lactose-based sucking tablets. Taken regularly, DeodoRite will help to support the natural cleansing and purifying functions of the body and maintain healthy levels of perspiration, supporting freshness and hygiene throughout the body, including the underarms, feet and mouth.
DIRECTIONS
Adults and Teenagers: Dissolve two tablets in a clean mouth three times daily.
Children: Dissolve one tablet in a clean mouth three times daily.
CAUTION
Safety during pregnancy and nursing has not yet been established. Due to its ability to eliminate toxins or foreign objects from the body, DeodoRite should not be used by people with internal prosthetic devices.

Full Spectrum Method vs. 'Standardized' Extracts
You may have heard the term 'standardized' extract used in relation to herbal remedies, but do you know what this means?
Many pharmaceutical companies have begun manufacturing herbal remedies using a process of extraction whereby harsh chemicals are employed to extract the active ingredients of medicinal herbs.
You will recognize these extracts by the usage of the words 'standardized' extract on the labels. This method of manufacturing is often cited as being more scientific and able to produce a superior product with controlled and guaranteed amounts of active ingredients in each product.
Contrary to these claims, this process is not approved by the manufacturers of holistic medicines. One of the reasons is that the process of extracting so-called 'active ingredients' and isolating them from the rest of the herb is one that has resulted in an increase in side effects, as the herb in this way loses its natural ability to protect against side effects.
In addition, many manufacturers use all parts of the plants to create standardized extracts, whereas herbalists know that only certain parts of some herbs should be used.
In the case of Ginkgo Biloba, for example, it is well known that the seeds of this plant are poisonous and can cause seizures and that only the leaves should be used. Standardized extracts of Ginkgo Biloba have been associated with the risk of seizure in some trials.
The most recent example of the dangers of using this manufacturing process includes the development of liver toxicity from using Kava Kava extract, an herb which has been safely used for hundreds of years!
It must also be added that this process of extraction requires the use of harsh chemicals and solvents, traces of which are difficult to remove completely from the final product.
To us, it makes little sense for companies to go the natural route, while being unable to guarantee that their product is free of contamination with chemicals known to be harmful to health!
