A naturally balanced pH stops the itch
Microscopic fungi or yeast occur naturally in the body and are present on all surfaces of the human body – inside and out. One of the most well-known fungal growths in the body is Candida albicans.
Under normal circumstances, this fungus lives in balance with the other healthy bacteria in the body and causes no harm. However, Candida can be harmful if found in other parts of your body such as the vagina, groin, ears, under nails, in skin folds, teeth cavities, and in the digestive tract.
A balanced pH level is the key to preventing Candida infections. The body has a healthy ph (alkaline or acidity level) of 6.4 if measuring urine or saliva. Deviation from this natural reading will cause upset in the body and create conditions for fungi, such as yeast (Candida), to thrive. This can lead to irritating, bothersome yeast infection symptoms.
The natural ability to keep conditions stable also depends greatly on the immune system, which helps to regulate the acid balance in the body. A healthy diet is the best way to help the immune system keep a healthy balance.
The natural way
There are many natural ways to support the immune system such as diet, adequate sleep, moderate exercise, and relaxation. pH levels can also be kept at appropriate levels by avoiding excess grains, sugar and most processed foods in the diet. Raw vegetables should also be included in a healthy eating plan.
However, today’s modern lifestyle is filled with fast food, pollution, and stress. Over time, these factors can sometimes cause health problems and affect the regulation mechanisms of the body, particularly the body’s natural ability to keep Candida levels in check. In extreme cases, this can negatively affect normal body functions and create disturbances in delicate body systems.
Natural remedies have been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years to support the immune system and thus support a healthy balance of pH in the body.
In more recent times, research has confirmed this traditional wisdom. There are now many published clinical studies demonstrating that a range of probiotic cultures can support the immune system and a healthy pH balance.
Acidophilus is a probiotic culture that is present in most yogurt. This probiotic culture contains plenty of good bacteria and can help to support the immune system and prevent vaginal yeast infections in addition to serving as a vaginal yeast infection treatment (Hilton E, Isenberg HD, Alperstein P, et al. “Ingestion of yogurt containing Lactobacillus acidophilus as prophylaxis for candidal vaginitis”. Ann Intern Med 1992;116:353–7).

- Cymbopogon Citratus (also known as Lemon grass) the freshly cut and partially dried leaves are used medicinally and are the source of the essential oil. One mechanism of action explained in a report evaluating lemongrass oil and its antibacterial effects on Escherichia coli determined that the oil elicits morphological alterations on the host, including filamentation, inhibition of septum formation, production of bulging, abnormal shaping of cells, as well as cell lysis, all of which deter bacterial growth. (Ogunlana E, et al. Effects of Lemon grass oil on the morphological characteristics and peptidoglycan synthesis of Escherichia coli cells. Microbios. 1987;50:43-59.) Some organisms inhibited by Lemon grass include Acinetobacter baumanii, Aeromonas veronii, Candida albicans, Enterococcus faecalis, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Serratia marcescens, Staphlycoccus aureus, and Proteus mirabilis. (Hammer K, et al. “Antimicrobial activity of essential oils and other plant extracts”. J Appl Microbiol. 1999;86:985-990). (Chalcat J, et al. “Correlation between chemical composition and antimicrobial activity”. VI. Activity of some African essential oils. J Essent Oil Res. 1997;9:67-75).
- Calendula Officinalis (also known as Pot marigold) was used in ancient Greek, Roman, Arabic, and Indian cultures as a medicinal herb as well as a dye for fabrics, foods, and cosmetics. It has been beneficial in promoting routine toxin elimination from the body and helping to routinely ‘flush out’ the system. It has been shown to help promote tissue repair, and has been proven in animal studies to be an effective anti-inflammatory. (Della Loggia R, Tubaro A, Sosa S, et al. The role of triterpenoids in the topical anti-inflammatory activity of Calendula officinalis flowers. Planta Medica 1994;60:516–20). (Patrick KFM, Kumar S, Edwardson PAD, Hutchinson JJ. “Induction of vascularisation by an aqueous extract of the flowers of Calendula officinalis L the European marigold”. pHytomedicine 1996;3:11–8. Kloucek-Popova E, Popov A, Pavlova N, Krusteva S). (“Influence of the physiological regeneration and epithelialisation using fractions isolated from Calendula officinalis”. Acta pHysiol pHarmacol Bulg. 1982;8(4):63-67). (De Tommasi N, Conti C, Stein ML, et al. “Structure and in vitro activity of triterpenoid saponins form Calendulaarvensis”. Plants Med 1991;57:250–3).
- Tabebuia Impetiginosa (also known as Pau d'arco bark) contains the active constituents Lapachol and Beta-lapachone, which are also known as naphthaquinones. Laboratory tests have demonstrated that both Lapachol and Beta-lapachone have anti-fungal properties as potent as common antifungal drugs used to balance yeast levels in the body. (Awang DVC, Dawson BA, Ethier JC, et al. “Naphthoquinone constituents of commercial lapacho/pau d’arco/taheebo products”. J Herbs Spices Med Plants 1994;2:27–43).
Note: Pau D'arco is not soluble in water and is best taken in tincture form where the active ingredients have been extracted medicinally in pharmaceutical ethanol. To prevent side effects, it is also important that the whole bark is used in the extraction process. This process has been followed at Native Remedies to bring you the strongest and most effective formula possible.
How do I use Candidate?
Dosage
Dilute 15 drops in approximately 1/4 cup water three times daily for an initial period of six weeks. Thereafter, follow up with a three-week course twice annually or when needed.
CAUTION
Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.
NOTE: Following dietary regulations, such as avoiding starch and sugar, and drinking 8 glasses of water each day, will go a long way in promoting the growth of healthy probiotic flora in the digestive tract. These principles are applied in our effective Candida Diet.
Candidate is highly recommended along with the following natural remedies for maximum effectiveness.
- Immunity Plus is used to support the body’s ability to fight pathogens (germs).
- Fatigue Fighter is used to promote healthy energy levels and adequate stamina.
- Detox Drops is used to assist the body in routine cleansing and detoxification.
How long until I see results?
Results may vary, due to a number of influential factors. Generally Candidate will get to work in a supportive capacity to the intestinal tract immediately. Typically, Candidate will promote balanced pH and routine systemic cleansing at a base level over a period of 3 to 6 weeks, with some individuals responding sooner than others.
Best results are achieved when Candidate is used consistently and the recommendations regarding diet and hygiene practices (particularly for vaginal yeast infection treatment) are followed. Be aware that lifestyle factors such as diet, health and fitness levels will all play a part in maintaining overall health and routine immune function.
It is suggested that sugars, alcohol, and refined carbohydrates be eliminated from the diet, and that the use of oral antibiotics be avoided if possible.
How long will a bottle last?
One bottle of Candidate will last 30 days at the full adult dosage of 15 drops three times daily.
What is the Candida Diet and how can it help me?
There are various versions of the Candida diet available, but all follow the same basic formula.
Native Remedies suggests the following list of what you should and what you shouldn't eat to beat Candida in conjunction with taking Candidate.
Will the Candida Diet help me to lose weight?
The Candida Diet is not intended for weight loss, but is specifically designed to combat Candida, Candidiasis and yeast infections. However, if you are overweight, you will almost certainly lose weight if you follow the Candida Diet!
Overgrowth of Candida causes intense cravings for sugar and starch, which is why many people cannot follow a weight loss diet.
Controlling levels of Candida in your digestive tract will help you to stick to your weight loss plan, while eliminating sugar and refined carbohydrates will help you lose weight.
Some Important Points
When following the Candida diet, you must make sure that your blood sugar levels are kept at an acceptable level by eating a substantial breakfast, lunch and supper. If you find that your energy level is low or you are experiencing dizziness while on the diet, it is probably due to low blood sugar. If this happens, simply add a mid-morning and mid afternoon snack. Please remember to drink lots of water in order to assist the elimination of toxins from your body. After a few days of detoxing, some of your symptoms may become worse and you could also experience headaches. This is quite normal and part of the detoxification process. It will improve after a few days and you will begin to feel healthier than you have felt for years! The Candida diet should be followed for 4 weeks, followed by a maintenance program as outlined.
You may not use sugar in any form – this includes sucrose (cane sugar), gluscose and fructose (fruit sugar). Lactose (milk sugar) to be kept to a minimum.

Our Full Spectrum Approach™
Guaranteeing Quality, Effectiveness & Safety
With a wide range of natural remedies and treatments on the market today, we understand that it can sometimes be difficult to make sense of it all. We also know that since there is no standardization in the herbal industry, there is no guarantee as to the consistency, safety or potency of the herbal remedies you buy.
That is until now!
At Native Remedies, all of our remedies are developed using the Full Spectrum Approach (FSA) to ensure you get the quality, potency and protection you deserve. Our Full Spectrum Approach consists of a set of standards and processes that combine wild crafted herbs, cGMP manufacturing and a full spectrum extraction method.
Our 3 Point Promise
1. Formulation
The first step in formulating a new remedy is always determining a customer’s needs and to match them with natural ingredients that have proven effectiveness.
In doing so, we draw on a vast body of documented knowledge about traditional medicine, as well as more recent clinical research into herbal remedies and proven homeopathic ingredients. Together with a team of natural health experts, the final formulations are compiled and decided upon.
2. Raw Material Quality & Source
All of the raw ingredients we use in our remedies are purchased from reputable suppliers and our ingredients are organically grown whenever possible.
We also ensure that wild-crafted herbs are grown far away from sources of pollution and electricity pylons, and that their presence does not compromise the integrity and balance of their environment.
All of our raw ingredients are purchased with an accompanying Certificate of Analysis. On receipt, they go into quarantine until further in-house tests are completed and released by our responsible pharmacists, ensuring that the herbs are fresh and not contaminated by any impure substances (e.g. heavy metals or bacterial infections).
3. Manufacturing
We manufacture all our remedies in an FDA registered facility under sterile conditions to ensure that no contamination occurs.
All our remedies are manufactured in-house under the supervision of our expert team and none are brought in from elsewhere. This enables us to have full control over quality and safety.
All of our products are then manufactured according to the principles of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) ensuring the consistency, safety and effectiveness of our remedies.
Full Spectrum Method vs. 'Standardized' Extracts
You may have heard the term 'standardized' extract used in relation to herbal remedies, but do you know what this means?
Many pharmaceutical companies have begun manufacturing herbal remedies using a process of extraction whereby harsh chemicals are employed to extract the active ingredients of medicinal herbs.
You will recognize these extracts by the usage of the words 'standardized' extract on the labels. This method of manufacturing is often cited as being more scientific and able to produce a superior product with controlled and guaranteed amounts of active ingredients in each product.
Contrary to these claims, this process is not approved by the manufacturers of holistic medicines. One of the reasons is that the process of extracting so-called 'active ingredients' and isolating them from the rest of the herb is one that has resulted in an increase in side effects, as the herb in this way loses its natural ability to protect against side effects.
In addition, many manufacturers use all parts of the plants to create standardized extracts, whereas herbalists know that only certain parts of some herbs should be used.
In the case of Ginkgo Biloba, for example, it is well known that the seeds of this plant are poisonous and can cause seizures and that only the leaves should be used. Standardized extracts of Ginkgo Biloba have been associated with the risk of seizure in some trials.
The most recent example of the dangers of using this manufacturing process includes the development of liver toxicity from using Kava Kava extract, an herb which has been safely used for hundreds of years!
It must also be added that this process of extraction requires the use of harsh chemicals and solvents, traces of which are difficult to remove completely from the final product.
To us, it makes little sense for companies to go the natural route, while being unable to guarantee that their product is free of contamination with chemicals known to be harmful to health!
Unlike many so-called natural remedies manufactured according to the methods described above, at Native Remedies, we avoid standardized extracts completely and use the Full Spectrum method of extraction, which is recommended by all the authoritative Materia Medica dealing with herbal medicine.
This helps us to maintain the integrity, balance and therapeutic effect of herbs with the least risk of side effects or harm to your health!
When you buy herbal and homeopathic medicines from Sage and Wisdom, you can be confident that you’re receiving a product manufactured to the highest standards of health, production and effectiveness!
